One clear mission.

Since 2017, 306 Block Party has been about one thing: shining a light on the Street Dance community in Saskatchewan, and doing some good along the way.

Back to the roots.

306 Block Party started in 2017 to shine a light on the hip hop and choreography community here.

After 2020 it grew into one of Saskatchewan's most loved multi-discipline competitions, and the energy that came with that was something to see. But our hearts stayed with the street styles that inspired the very first Block Party.

In 2026 we came back to those roots — Street Dance only, with a convention and an Open Styles Battle alongside the competition.

That is what the weekend is now. Two days of training, performing and battling, for dancers who live the culture and for dancers just finding it.

What we're about

Community first.

Every dancer gets the chance to be seen. We celebrate progress as much as placement, and we build the weekend around respect for each other and for the culture.

Street Dance only The full spectrum, honoured — foundational styles, and the commercial and contemporary blends that shape the broader landscape. Everyone who moves in this culture belongs here.
Education, not just competition We fly in respected Street Dance artists, teachers and battlers who work with the dancers face to face, and every routine gets real feedback from the faculty.
A greater good A portion of proceeds are donated to the Canadian Mental Health Association, Saskatoon Branch.

Who runs it.

306 Block Party is put on by Spring Stars Inc., a small team that runs four dance events a year in Saskatoon.

Debra Cadrain — Co-director Deb has been putting on dance events in Saskatoon for fourteen years. She started the Spring Stars Dance Festival with her sister, in memory of their dance moms and in support of people affected by cancer, and she directs Spring Stars Inc. She and Andrew have run 306 Block Party together since it began.
Andrew Bennett — Co-director Andrew is a dance educator, choreographer and event director from Saskatoon, and has been teaching Street Dance here for more than a decade. 306 Block Party is Andrew's vision, and the mission is to shine a light on the Street Dance community in Saskatchewan.

Around them is everyone who makes the weekend run: the faculty we fly in, the judges, the battle DJ, the crew backstage and the volunteers at the door. Studios, independent crews, teachers and families fill the rest of the room.
