About
Shine. Inspire. Unite.
Since its debut in 2017, 306 Block Party was created with one clear mission – to shine a light on the Hip Hop & Choreography dance community while contributing to a greater good. Following 2020, the event evolved into one of Saskatchewan’s most loved multi-discipline dance competitions, bringing together dancers from a wide range of genres. While we have loved the incredible energy and diversity that has grown from this, our hearts have always been rooted in the street-style culture that inspired the very first Block Party.
In 2026, 306 Block Party returned to its roots as a Street Dance–only competition, and we added a convention and battle alongside the competition, dedicated to the street-dance culture that first inspired us in 2018.
306 Block Party provides street dance performers and artists with the opportunity to shine on stage, while also engaging in meaningful education that strengthens their skills and builds community connections.
We are committed to inclusivity, recognizing and celebrating the full spectrum of street dance. This includes not only authentic foundational styles but also those that blend with commercial or contemporary influences. We acknowledge the importance of diverse expressions that help shape the broader street dance landscape.
What Makes This Event Special
- Specialized Faculty: We are flying in an incredible lineup of respected hip hop and street-dance artists, who are dancers, teachers, battle competitors and choreographers. They live and breathe the culture. They will share not just movement, but also the history, foundation and mindset of each style.
- Smaller, more focused classes that allow dancers and teachers to connect and explore the unique culture of Street Dance. Beyond choreography classes, expect foundations, groove & flow, freestyle concepts, battle prep and cultural context.
- A specialized, positive, supportive and high-energy atmosphere where every dancer has the chance to be seen and inspired. We are about community first. We celebrate every dancer’s progress and foster respect for each other.
- Performance Opportunity with Feedback: Our competition provides dancers with early-season performance experience and feedback from our faculty, helping them refine their skills and build confidence for the rest of the season.
- Inspiration & Connection: Whether you’re training, competing, or just soaking up the energy, you’ll be surrounded by like-minded dancers who share the same love for street styles.
Why Attend?
By taking part in the 306 Block Party Hip Hop Convention & Competition, dancers will:
- Deepen their understanding of hip hop culture and its foundations
- Learn from some of the most inspiring street dance educators
- Build confidence in classes that they can take to the stage (and the streets)
- Move forward with fresh skills, new friends, and renewed enthusiasm
This is more than an event—it’s an experience that connects dancers to the roots and future of hip hop culture, while giving them the tools to shine in any setting.
